Share purchases and subscriptions across iPhone, iPad, and Mac
In supported apps, if you purchase or subscribe on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can use it on your other supported devices signed in with the same Apple Account.
This is based on Apple's Universal Purchase system.
Requirements
- You are signed in with the same Apple Account.
- The app supports each device you want to use, such as iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- You are using the same App Store app.
- The purchase or subscription is eligible for sharing across devices.
Purchases on Android or Google Play cannot be shared with App Store purchases.
How to use it on another device
- Open the App Store on the device you want to use.
- Sign in with the same Apple Account you used for the purchase or subscription.
- Install the app.
- Tap "Restore Purchases" in the app.
It may take a little time for the purchase status to appear. If it still does not appear, update the app and OS to the latest versions, restart your device, and then try "Restore Purchases" again.
Purchases and data sync are different
Purchase and subscription sharing only shares access to paid features. App records, settings, and other data are separate.
If you want to share data across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, also check the app's iCloud sync settings.
If it still does not work
- Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase.
- Tap "Restore Purchases" in the app.
- Update the app and OS to the latest versions.
- Restart your device.
- Check your Apple purchase history or subscription settings.
If the purchase was made with a different Apple Account, it cannot be transferred to your current Apple Account.
