Privacy Policy

Monelyze Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) sets out this Privacy Policy to explain how we handle information in connection with our applications and websites, including those for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Android, and other platforms (collectively, the “Services”).

This English version is intended for users outside Japan. For users in Japan, please refer to the Japanese version of this Privacy Policy.

1. Basic Policy

We respect user privacy and handle information appropriately.

Except when a user voluntarily sends data to us for support or similar purposes, our apps do not store data that users create or enter within the apps (“App Data”) on servers managed by us, including our managed areas on external cloud services. App Data is stored on the user’s device, iCloud, or storage and synchronization features provided by the relevant operating system or platform.

We do not access, restore, delete, analyze, or use App Data that we have not received for advertising or other purposes. However, if a user sends information to us by email, contact form, attachments, or other means for support or similar purposes, we may review and retain that information as necessary.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect or receive the following information to the extent necessary to provide the Services.

2.1 App Data

Except when a user voluntarily sends App Data to us for support or similar purposes, App Data created or entered within our apps is not stored on servers managed by us.

If a user sends App Data to us for customer support, troubleshooting, data review, or similar purposes, we may collect and process that App Data only to the extent necessary for those purposes.

2.2 Contact and Support Information

When you contact us, we may collect your email address, inquiry details, attachments, and any other information you choose to send to us.

When handling inquiries, we may use external AI translation and writing assistance services, such as ChatGPT, to assist with translation, summarization, drafting responses, and troubleshooting. Please do not send personal information, confidential information, financial information, tax information, or other sensitive information that is not necessary for support.

2.3 Purchase and Billing Information

Some of our apps use in-app purchases provided by Apple or Google. These may include subscriptions and non-consumable one-time purchases.

Payment processing is handled by Apple or Google. We do not collect credit card numbers or other payment card information. However, we may review purchase status, receipt information, transaction information, and related information to verify purchases, provide paid features, and respond to billing-related support requests.

2.4 Advertising Information

Some of our apps display advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may use advertising identifiers, device information, app usage information, and similar information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, personalized advertising, and related purposes.

For iOS apps, we may display the App Tracking Transparency permission prompt where required. We may also display consent screens where required by applicable laws or platform rules.

For more details about advertising and tracking, please refer to the App Privacy information on the App Store, the Data Safety information on Google Play, and Google’s policies.

2.5 Analytics and Diagnostics Information

Some of our apps may use Firebase, App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and similar services to collect app usage information, diagnostic information, crash logs, device information, operating system version, app version, installation identifiers, and similar information.

We use this information to improve app quality, investigate bugs and crashes, and maintain security.

2.6 Website Browsing Information

Our websites may use cookies, analytics, security features, and similar technologies. Through these technologies, we may collect or review standard browsing information such as IP address, User-Agent, access date and time, pages viewed, referrer, request counts, and page views.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect some website functions.

3. Purposes of Processing

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

4. Third-Party Services and Service Providers

We may use the following external services to provide the Services, deliver advertising, perform analytics, investigate issues, handle inquiries, provide websites, and perform related operations:

These external services may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms of service. We use these services only to the extent necessary to provide the Services and related support, and we manage service providers as required by applicable law.

External service providers may be located outside Japan, and information may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries or regions. When using external services, we consider their privacy policies, security practices, terms of service, and similar factors, and use them only to the extent necessary to provide the Services or support users.

When we input inquiry details into external services, including AI assistance services, we do so only to the extent necessary for support, translation, summarization, drafting responses, troubleshooting, or similar purposes.

5. Sharing and International Transfers

We do not disclose personal data to third parties except in the following cases:

Information may be processed or stored outside your country or region, including in Japan, the United States, or other countries where we or our service providers operate.

Where required by applicable law, including the GDPR or UK GDPR, we will take appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as relying on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, data processing agreements, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

6. Security and Retention

We take reasonable security measures to protect the information we collect from leakage, loss, unauthorized access, alteration, and other risks. These measures may include access restrictions, limiting retention to what is necessary, and selecting external services appropriately.

Inquiry details, support history, attachments provided by users, and similar information are retained for the period necessary to respond to the inquiry, or for the period necessary for legal or business purposes. When the information is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymize it.

For App Data that is not stored on servers managed by us, we cannot review, restore, or delete the contents. Deletion, backup, and synchronization settings for App Data are managed by the user through the user’s own device, Apple Account, Google Account, or the settings of the relevant operating system or platform.

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of processing of, or portability of your personal data. You may also have the right to object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

If you make a request, we may ask you to verify your identity. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

Please note that we may not be able to respond to requests regarding App Data that we do not hold, or information managed by third-party services such as Apple, Google, form and inquiry handling services, Cloudflare, or other external services.

You can also manage certain privacy choices through your device settings, browser settings, Apple Account, Google Account, App Store privacy settings, Google Play settings, or consent screens displayed in our apps or websites.

We do not sell personal data for money. However, depending on applicable privacy laws, some third-party advertising activities may be considered “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or similar concepts. Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate choices or consent mechanisms.
